The invitational goalball tournament will be held in Montreal April 2007, from the 27th to the 29th.

It is actually hosted during Defi sportif, an international event in wich 2900 athletes from 12 countries particpate in 13 different sports.

It will be Defi sportif's 24th edition in 2007.

What makes Defi sportif exceptional is the fact that athletes from the 5 types of disability participate in 1 unique event, though one competition does not mix different types of disability.

The event lasts 5 days, from Wednesday to Sunday.

During the week days, 35 schools from all over Quebec come to compete in 7 different sports, to promote sport to children living with a disability.
Then, on the week-end, they have international competitions with elite athletes.

One of those is goalball.
The competition is on 3 days, they will have the male and female canadian teams, the female american team also comes year after year. Defi sportif certainly hope to have more international teams soon.

Defi sportif offer 400$ in accomodation fees to the first teams registred.

Shuttle service is included, from airport to hotel and from hotel to competition site. Healthy meals can be ordered and delivered on the competition site. Massage therapy and physiotherapy is also available and free on all sites.
