Subject: Decision of Organizing Committee regarding participation on
              tournament.

Dear sports friends,

According to The INVITATION letter, The Organizing Committee of Izola 2008 Goalball Tournament went through all the applications that were received by the deadline on the 31st of March 2008. We were delighted by the large number of teams interested in taking part at our tournament, but we were sorry to realize that we would have to reject some teams as the circumstances allow us to host 8 teams all together only. As already said in the INVITATION, we choose the teams on “the first-come-first served basis” according to the Entry Forms received dates.

Beside the Slovenian national team, the following 7 teams are accepted to the tournament:

All the teams that have not yet sent us their arrival details are asked to send their flight numbers and arrival times to the airports or data about the other transport options of their arrival to Slovenia/Izola.

In the attachment you can find the competition schedule. The draw for the competition will take place on the technical meeting on the evening before the beginning of the tournament.

Dear sportsfriends,

We are honoured to invite you to the 6th International Goalball Tournament for national male teams, organised by the Union of Blind and Partially Sighted of Slovenia in collaboration with the Sports Federation for the Disabled of Slovenia National Paralympic Committee.

Location:
The tournament will take place in the town of Izola (Isola), Slovenia, on the Adriatic coast.

Teams invited:
Tournament is open for up to 7 (seven) national male national goalball teams, beside Slovenian National Goalball Team, on the first come-first served basis.

Date and schedule:
Arrival : Thursday, May 22nd , 2008 after 14.00 hours.
Competition days: Friday and Saturday, May 23rd and 24th, 2008.
Departure: Sunday, May 25th, 2008 after breakfast.

Transport information:
The teams can travel to Izola by road (motorway Ljubljana-Koper, Capodistria), by rail to the Koper railway station, by air to Ljubljana International Airport at Brnik (130 km from Izola) and by air via Ronchi International Airport in Trieste, Italy (60 km from Izola).

Accommodation:
Al competitors will be accommodated in the comfortable Recreation Home "Mimi Breznik” run by the Union of the Blind and Partially Sighted of Slovenia, Ulica Sv. Petra 3 in Izola, in a twin, double or triple bedrooms and in similar conditions in nearby town Piran (Pirano).

Food:
Food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) for all participants will be available at the Recreation Home in Izola.

Competition Site:
The competition will take place in Izola ”Livada Sports Hall”, which is situated 2 km from the accommodation place. The floor of the hall is made of lacquered parquet.

Method of Competition:
Single Round Robin System. Time table is attached to this Invitation letter.

Rules:
The competition will be carried out in accordance with IBSA Goalball rules.

Teams:
The teams may register no more than eight persons (six players and two managers/attendants). Any additional members will have to pay a separate price for participation.

Referees:
The invitation to each team is extended to one qualified IBSA level 2 or 3 referee. Referees refereeing the competition will not be included in the eight-member quota. The organisers will therefore provide free-of-charge accommodation, food and local transport for the referees. The contact person for referees is Mr. Nejc Jakič (together with Ms. Patricija Fras).

Entry fee:
The entry fee is 1700 € for 8 persons. The price includes accommodation, food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), competition costs and local transport, from day of arrival to the day of departure (starting with dinner on May 22nd and ending with breakfast on May 25th, 2008).
Local transport will be organised from airport Brnik-Ljubljana (Slovenia) or Trieste (Ronchi dei Legionari, Italy), from railway or bus stations to the residence and from the residence to sport hall and back.

Prices:
Team – 8 persons: 1700 € per whole period (Thursday afternoon - Sunday morning)
Extra person: 250 € per whole period.
500 € of the entry fee must accompany the written application (Entry Form), and can be paid into the following account:

Liability:
The organisers shall not be liable for any accidents or illnesses that may occur before, during or after the competition.
