Original information:

Team USA will host Canada, China and Denmark in the four day event. These four women's goalball teams have qualified for the 2008 Paralympic games.

The tournament will be held at the Lakeshore Foundation Complex in Birmingham Alabama. The Lakeshore Foundation is a US Paralympic Training Center and the primary training facility for the US Womens Goalball Team and Wheelchair Rugby.

This tournament will be broadcast live through the internet. Mr. Bill Teale who broadcast the IBSA World Games from Spartanburg will be doing the play by play.

Following is the url that the virtual chat room that will be used to broadcast the games live. It is very neat!

The first time you go to the page you have to download a small piece of software called a chat client, this makes the chatrooom work. Log on with whatever user name you desire.
Once you are in the chat room you normally would be able to take turns in chatting to each other, but during the tournament you will be only able to hear the commentary from the games, and won't be able to cut in with your own microphone.

The chat room is booked 24/7 for the entire event. Games are 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 and 3:00 pm each day (local time in Birmingham AL is CDT) 10 through 13 July. Time in UTC is: 14:30, 15:30, 19:00 and 20:00 h. (You can find the actual UTC time on top of each of our pages.)
There will also be Q and A with players, coaches and referees throughout the event at various times.
